When renting a moReal COD4 game server, we give customers the ability to quickly install and create an IRC scorebot through our online control panel. Below is a brief set of instructions on how to install and configure the scrorebot functionality for Call Of Duty 4 utilizing the web control panel.
1) Login to the web control panel and click on the “Game Servers” option. Then click on the option that says “Other Game Services”
2) Select “COD Scorebot” from the drop down of gaming services then click Install. Please allow 1-2 minutes for installation. If successful in your “Game Servers” list you should now see the COD4 Scorebot as a separate service.
3) In the “Game Servers” list go ahead and select the COD4 Scorebot. Then click on File Manager in order to access the files for the scorebot that require editing.
4) In your list of files you will see “CODBOT.BAT” go ahead and edit this file by selecting edit in the drop down next to it. Only the four options below should be edited, typically everything else is best left at default.
Set LOGFILE=”Mods\pam401\games_mp.log”
Set IRCServer=”irc.gamesurge.net”
set IRCCHANNEL="#yourchannel"
set IRCNICK="Scorebot"
Using the options above please set your desired IRC Channel, IRC Nick/Bot name and IRC Server. Typically you will not need to edit the LOGFile entry unless an update to PAM is released or you intend on running DAMN then of which you would simply switch out pam401 with whatever mod you’re running. Once you have made the desired changes please save this file and return to the file manager.
5) This next step is optional and not necessary for your scorebot to function, however will allow you to have some additional functionality such as bot authentication and output colors. In your file manager go ahead and edit the file irccolors_cod.cfg.
Find “Host=” and change this to your desired IRC server i.e. HOST=”irc.gamesurge.net”
Find “Channel=” and change this to your desired IRC channel i.e. Channel=”#moreal”
Find “Qauth=0” and change this option to Qauth=1
Find “qservicename=” and change this to Qservicename=AuthServ@Services.GameSurge.net
Find “Qauthuser=” and enter the IRC username (must be registered)
Find “AUTHUSER=” and enter the IRC username (must be registered)
Find “Qauthpass=” and enter the IRC password for your username.
Find “AUTHPASS=” and enter the IRC password for your username.
6) Go ahead and save this file and return to your game server listing. Select the IRC scorebot and then go ahead and click “Start” it should now join your channel and be active. Removing the scorebot simply requires stoping it through the control panel.
